We can evaluate the current condition of existing coating systems using ASTM, AWWA, NACE, SSPC or other relevant industry standards. NORSKE will provide a full evaluation of the existing coatings on your structures as well as a full statistical analysis of the results. These services are designed for clients who: are concerned about the potential for coating failures, are now experiencing a coating failure, want to evaluate the current status of their coatings, need to achieve predictable maintenance painting costs, would like to significantly decrease potential corrosion protection costs or are involved with lead abatement and/or encapsulation programs.

SPECIFICATION WRITING / SPECIFICATION REVIEW

NORSKE will develop detailed technical specifications, including application and inspection components to be included as part of the owner’s contract bid documentation. This will assure the Owner that the contractor would attain the intended level of quality through the surface preparation and application of the protective coatings. NORSKE can also review existing specifications to ensure the surface preparation methods and coating system selection satisfies the demands of the operating environment. The safety and environmental aspects should also be addressed in the specification. NORSKE will consult with the appropriate safety and environmental regulatory agencies and the coating manufacturer(s) to ensure technical compliance, prior to project tendering.

FAILURE ANALYSIS

The NORSKE approach is comprehensive and multi‐faceted, including field examination for problem evaluation and sample gathering along with laboratory analysis. Comprehensive technical reports with conclusions and recommendations are issued. Coating and lining failures can often be minimized through proper material selection, thorough field inspection services during installation of the protective coating & lining systems and utilizing proper specifications and reference standards.
